Metahuman Combat League explodes with audiences

Bomb threat at Mt Olympus. The world was shocked and amazed this last weekend at the Metahuman Combat League's debut match between James Baker and Shadow Wolf of the Luminaries. Halfway through the match, the present Luminaries, Kamikaze, Victori, and Gray suddenly started racing around the Colosseum pulling up crude explosives that could have caused massive amounts of damage and death.

7 bombs were recovered and promptly dismantled before they exploded. Another bomb was apparently hidden in the holoprojector system in the ring, which was ripped up and flown away by Shadow Wolf.


Unfortunately 1 bomb was left undetected and exploded, but fortunately no one was injured as a result.

Zebidiah Barrak, the owner of Mount Olympus, had this to say, "I, along with the rest of the staff at Mt Olympus are grateful for the timely response to the bomb threat, and are certainly glad that there was no one hurt in this incident.

Dominic Aries, head MCL producer and head of Aries Security was less pleased about the incident... stateing off camera that he was pursuing some leads with the local authorities to catch whomever is responsible.

In the mean time, ratings for the Metahuman Combat League were estimated at an impressive 2 million viewers. Once repairs are made, it will begin a regular fight schedule. Other locations are already being outfitted around the world with the force field/holographic stage stadium, for more matches around the world.

The debut match of the Metahuman Combat League between James Baker (JB) and Shadow Wolf (SW).


Round 1: JB took the initiative and tackled SW to the mat and beating on his opponent swiftly. SW countered by increasing his size to the size of an armored truck. However JB was able to maintain his grip and initiated a choke hold. The match then ended with a few more blows in the face to shadow wolf.


Round 2: SW started to move around the ring in a blur, and managed to grab hold of JB in a massive bear hug. Despite his best efforts to kick and punch his way free, SW's grip remained firm and continued to cause JB incredible pain with submission holds.


Round 3: JB took initiative once more and tackled SW to the mat. However SW tried a new tactic using his incredible diaphragm muscles and lung capacity to suck in a massive amount of air, causing a strong wind to blow. JB barely held his footing together, and released his grapple on SW, and in response stomped on his mouth.

SW responded by blowing a gale force wind gust back, causing JB to recoil slightly. JB then landed a massive 2 hit combo to SW's midsection.


Round 4: Shadow Wolf holds up his hand to indicate he does not want to fight... James Baker nods respectfully and backs off into the edge of the ring. Shadow Wolf then rips up a large chunk of the floor, finds an object and takes off through the force field and the Coliseum's ceiling.


Due to the bomb threat, the match was declared No contest officially, the charity money was split evenly between all the charities and a rematch will be scheduled in short order.

News Story: The two reporters who saved Japan... also the Luminairies

The Kasuganocho Shrine in Nara, Japan was under attack recently by a massive tidal wave. And was saved by a reporter from Buzz Feed. 

The heroic effort lead by the Luminaries to stop the wave from destroying the town ended with one of their own jets being piloted by the journalist broke up the wave. At which point they both jumped from the plane to escape certain destruction.

The plane was fine and only sustained minor damage, but the wave was disrupted.

Unfortunately the shrine suffered some incalculable damage when the Ever Flying Kite was destroyed in a battle with a death Oni. The Kite was said to have never been pulled in and stayed in perpetual flight for over 100 years.

Whether this is true, or simply a tourist story is unknown at this time.

The Luminaries were so efficient in disrupting the destruction of Nara, they had time for a quick photo opportunity, placed below.

News Story: Cobalt Commandos

Look out terrorists, Militant dictators, and bad guys. If you want to harm the innocent and stifle the freedom of others, you're about to become black and blue... Cobalt blue!

The Cobalt commandos have recently been hired by UN peace keeping forces as an elite force in the hotly contest areas in Africa. This blue man group of military muscle is more effective in many combat situations than a standing army 200 times it's size. This is largely due to the increased strength, stamina, and superior training given to these men by their leader and founder, Cobalt.

The world watches and waits to see if this mercenary group is really as tough as they claim to be... but already with their influence, the 2 year conflict in South Sudan was resolved in 2 days. An amazingly efficient turn around on what once thought to be a hopeless situation.

News Story: Fire Oni Attack in Japan!

Fire Oni Attack in Japan!

The Luminaries saved the “Izumo Taisha” in the Shimane Prefecture from certain destruction today. Under attack from a variety of Fire Oni, or demon's as known in the western world who seemed hell bent on the destruction of the oldest shrine in Japan.

Amid the mysteries the Luminaries faced, a strange woman in Kabuki mask and covered head to toe... able to control darkness.

Despite the fact she escaped, the Luminaries still put out most of the fires with an impressive maneuver with their jet plane and some assistance with gravity control.

The only major damage to the site was 1 stolen stone lantern, which locals claim was irreplaceable, but not anything special compared to the dozen other stone lanterns at the site that the criminal skipped past.

This was a special mission for the Luminaries as it debuted their newest team members, White Lotus, Wraith, and Event Horizon... as well as some old friends, Lifeline and the Phoenix (formally Nix).

News Story: Lifeline visits Greece and France

Lifeline, current Chairman of the Luminaries, recently made two unannounced excursions to the the countries of France and Greece.

Our sources tell us that the Chairman's visit to France was diplomatic in nature affirming the nation's strong ties to the Luminaries organization, which began after the attempted invasion of Earth by the aliens known as the Kracklezuum. We know that he toured many of the new facilities that house the pride of the French Military, Le Résistance Mécanique. He visited the Eiffel Tower, and He also dined on rich decadent French cuisine with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, though he was unable to meet with the President of France due to the mostly unannounced nature of his visit.

After his trip to France, Lifeline was spotted in Greece, this trip as far as our sources can gather was more personal in nature making no contact with the local government. He was however spotted making visits to various landmarks most notably the Parthenon in the Acropolis of Athens. Our sources believe that Lifeline was seeking to commune with the Greek Gods of old as it is said that his powers derive from the Geek God Asclepius.

News Story: Godzilla attacks Egypt

Godzilla became alive today, but instead of terrorizing Japan like we've come to expect, she attacked Egypt.

A Nile Crocodile was affected by some unknown source, and grew to be the size of a building in Egypt today. It knocked over buildings and managed to eat swaths of helpless victims before Shadow Wolf swooped in and saved the day.

While he initially struggled to move or anger the massive crocodile, he then started to grow to a massive size, surpassing the creature at which point, he simply picked up the reptile and flew off to north to the Mediterranean Sea.

Sources from the Military and the Luminaries stated they battled for another 3 minutes before the killer croc was subdued

Uncertain if it was scared or somehow enraged by it's new powers, Egyptian scientists have begun researching the Nile river for sources of contamination, whether toxic, radioactive, or Kracklezum related.

Season 1 Recap!

Last Season on Aberrant: The Luminaries Unite Season 1: The Kracklezum Files Jordan "Star Jumper" Hellmons calls invites the meta-powered humans of the world to Municipal City to show them of the imminent threat of a physic race of bug like aliens dubbed "Kracklezum".

The group of heroes set forth on a campaign to convince the world of this threat, while stopping the aliens from carrying out their tactical plans to destabilize the planet's defenses.

After much struggle, the heroes formed under a panel of like minded individuals who's goals were to keep the planet safe and show a better way into the future for all humanity. The Luminaries were born under the resources of Star Jumper, and the leadership of Daring.

A space tether was built in municipal city, which could be weaponized and instrumental in the defense of earth from the impending armada.

The armada came, and the Luminaries united in full force, but were repelled, and their queen... who tried to destroy the Luminaries from within was destroyed herself, which ended the threat of the Kracklezum forever.

However even with the Kracklezum threat has ended, the repercussions of the battle continue.

Magic and the spirits and gods of the earth have arrisin in force, long forgotten, they seek champions of their own now to bring them glory, or achieve their own ends.

The french have a small armada of mechs that were designed and created by some of the luminaries, during the missing years for France. Incredible technological advancements that are giving them an edge on national french security.

And while the kracklezum no longer posses the life force or will to affect our planet... the massive radiation blast and their latent DNA is still spread across the planet, causing mutations and ordinary humans to erupt with powers...

The Luminaries sought a better world... but they have their work cut out for them.

Character Profile: Event Horizen

Inventor and Super hero: Event Horizon


Among the newest ranks in the Luminaries, the darkly dressed "Event Horizon" makes his way across the sky as the light dims slightly.


With the power to control gravity itself, this confident hero could literally throw houses on people and make a handgun weigh several hundred pounds... he's also been known to change the direction gravity goes, giving his enemies an unpleasant surprise to deal with.


But more he's more than semi-cosmic powers... Event Horizon is also an inventor. His prize achievement being his seamless suit, made of a material that can adapt to a super's energy and not be destroyed by the super's own powers. It's also highly resistant to damage, and completely breathable and self repairing in those rare occurrences that a bad guy does damage his suit.


Keep your eyes out and feet on the ground when this hero enters... he's likely to shake things up.

Character Profile: White Lotus

New Luminaries Member: The White Lotus

There is a new age hero for this new exciting age, and she has already reached her zen. White Lotus has quickly proven her ability and aptitude with the Luminaries, helping with the Oni attacks in Japan, as well as providing healing and cleansing services to emergency victims across the globe.

Using the energy of the universe, this hero can replenish health, redirect negative energy, or even block the points of power within a super... rendering their powers useless.

Keep an eye out for the White Lotus... hope will always follow her.

Character Profile: Phoenix (Formally Nix)

Rise of the Nix? The Phoenix!


Back from the grave? Made of electricity? And a sex change?


Recently, the once thought dead hero of the Luminaries has appeared again in Municipal City with some new incredible powers. More than just wielding the power of lightning, it appears to BE lightning.


And on the more curious side note, apparently Nix was a woman! No official comment from the Luminaries at this time... but regardless of that, The citizens of Municipal City are overjoyed to have one of it's heroes back.

Character Profile: Gray

Amid the new heroes in Municipal City... there is an enigma who has surfaced. He goes by the name "Gray", and unfortunately isn't very responsive to interview.

What we are sure of is that he apparently see's things that others do not. And he is able to change things around him subtally, but in important ways. He personally saved my life by asking me politely to step two steps backwards, when a large lamp post dropped suddenly and would have crushed me.

I don't understand what it all means, but I'm glad that he appears to be on our side. Maybe some things are meant to be a mystery...

Character Profile: Boris the Immortal

Boris the Immortal has joined with the Luminaries!

In the latest indoctrination of new members, one of the oldest living super heroes has graced Municipal City with his presence. Boris the Immortal was the only surviving Cosmonaut in the fabled flight when he was bombarded with space radiation and given incredible powers.

This hero has had a long and distinguished career, serving on several heroic teams, often as their spokesperson. With the Luminaries, he's already assisted in the Municipal City Hospital rescue, as stated in this press conference afterwards.

It's obvious to this reporter that with Boris on their side, the Luminaries have a "Bright" future!

Character Profile: Stormburst

Look up in the sky! The storm is coming for you.
The skies of Municipal City were adorned with the site of new Luminary members, including the storm channeling Stormburst.

Little is known of this hero's origins, but he apparently is blessed by Ukko, the Finnish god of the sky. He is one of the latest humans blessed by the magical forces that have arisen on earth in the last year.

Stormburst boasts incredible strength, the ability to channel storms and lightning, and can grab everyone's attention with his sheer presence and loud booming voice that can be heard for miles around.

This does bring up concerns however about what these gods and magical beings want with our world. Were they asleep for the better part of human history? Laying in the shadows? And now that they are awake, what do they want now? Stories of legend talk of the Greek gods torturing humans at their whim, and Norse gods leading vast armies of mortals in their name.
While many legends of heroes who arose from the presence of these powerful beings, there were just as many foes trying to destroy the world.

Regardless, the citizens of Municipal City are grateful to our new hero, Stormburst. And may he continue to spread the blessings of Ukko to the world!

Character Profile: Cobalt

Cobalt: The Big Blue Badass
Gerald Cargill, a former Greysmoke soldier was imbued with Super Human Strength, Incredible Durability, and Regeneration. A volunteer in a medical experiment involving Cobalt-60, which is rumored to be what gave his skin it's blue tint.

Whatever his origins may be, the world has much to thank him for in his heroic efforts in thwarting the Kracklezum menace. Reports claim he was responsible for kicking many of asteroids back into space and into theocean like soccer balls, using his enhanced leaping abilities.

But this hero isn't just saving us on a worldly stage, he is often seen paroling the streets of Municipal City, keeping crime to it's lowest ever. I know I feel alot safer knowing the Big Blue Badass is watching over us.

Character Profile: Nix

Nix: The Mysterious Hero
This hero was an unknown up until the Kracklezum attack. But using his lightning fast reflexes, state of the art katana, and electric powers, he was responsible for saving so many lives here in Municipal City. Offical reports from Star Industries and the UN state that this brave hero gave his life in the battle with the Queen.

We regret that we never got to know you better, but the least we can do is spend a moment of silence in Nix's honor.

Character Profile: Lifeline

Lifeline: The Hand of Asclepius; Head of the Luminaries

This indestructible hero was a proud figure with Doctors without Borders, which afforded him high standing with the UN.

Often seen in disaster areas, Lifeline has saved countless lives with his healing touch, and ability to take the brunt of any danger that might threaten the helpless. Even explosive devices are not match for this iron clad stomach.

With his contribution to ending the Kracklezum menace, and the tragic loss of former Luminaries head, Daring and original founder, Jordan "Star Jumper" Hellmons. He has taken on the mantel to guide the philanthropist group into the future, and shine a light for all of mankind to find a better way.

Character Profile: Shadow Wolf

Shadow Wolf: The Defender of Nature

While initially frightening to the citizens of Municipal City, and thought to be little more than an urban myth, this hero quickly proved to be much more.

Said to be blessed by the spirit of the earth itself, he possess incredible physical prowess, predatory cunning, and beautiful black wings that allow super sonic flight. However there seems to be more to Shadow Wolf than just these powers. Spiritual activity has increased lately, and nature is becoming more apt to defend itself against energy corporations, clear cutting operations, and other industries that have records for pollution.

Environmental groups across the globe look to Shadow Wolf as a blessing for their causes, and have often tried to get him to sign on for appearances and jobs aligned to the causes of nature. No word yet from the Luminaries or Star Industries on if Mr. Wolf is available for such engagements or interviews. We will keep you updated to further developments on who this mysterious nature warrior is.

Character Post: Kamikaze

Kamikaze: The Divine Wind

With the tender breeze of a summer day, to the full destructive force of a hurricane, this hero is the national pride of Japan. Her powers over wind are said to be a gift from the god, Fu'jin. But whatever their origin Japan has it's own national protector, and the world has a powerful ally.

During the Kracklezum invasion, Kamikaze actually shifted some of the world's weather patterns to help deflect the onslaught of asteroids raining down from space... and reports are her peerless grace and agility, combined with her Tessenjutsu (War fan) fighting style, she was able to do serious harm to the Kracklezum queen.

Congratulations are also expressed from this reporter, and from many in the world to her recent birth of a healthy baby girl, with her husband and bodyguard, Yokozuna Ryu (sumo champion of the highest rank).

May the road always rise up to meet you, and may the wind be always at your back, Kamikaze... although I suppose that is never a problem for you!
